Learn About CBD

What is CBD?

First, let’s explain the difference between CBD and THC. CBD stands for Cannabidiol and THC for Tetrahydrocannabinol, they are both cannabinoids.

CBD is mainly extracted from the hemp plant, which is one of the oldest crops and has been grown for thousands of years. While THC is found in larger quantities in marijuana and hashish. THC is psychotropic and induces a high, while CBD does NOT. We have CBD oils that contain 0% THC and also a so-called Full-Spectrum CBD oil which contains 0,2% THC, which does not result in any psychoactive effect.

CBD has very different properties than THC, it can be used as a dietary supplement or for cosmetic purposes. The quality of CBD is crucial for good quality products, therefore we use one of Europe´s oldest CBD producers, who guarantees the highest quality Hemp extract organically grown from Cannabis.

What does Full-Spectrum CBD mean?

Full-spectrum means that’s CBD oil contains at least 113 cannabinoids, including all the components of the hemp plant, vitamins, minerals, terpenes and flavonoids, unlike in an isolated CBD oil. The CBD oil is produced from the hemp plant, which also contains a very small amount of THC. Because of the very low content of THC (0,2%) in our products, they are not psychoactive or induce a high.

In a Full-Spectrum CBD oil, all the cannabinoids work together and give an improved effect.

Are there any side effects of CBD?

The use of CBD as a dietary supplement has little to zero negative side effects.

CBD is not recommended to children or women during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you are currently taking any medicine and especially omeprazole or diazepam, we recommend you consult with your doctor before using CBD products.

Just like with anything else, there are disadvantages to over-dosing CBD. Read more about under How do I effectively use CBD. CBD cannot overdose, but our bodies will only benefit from a certain amount. And starting with a too high of a dose in the beginning and you might experience some unwanted side effects.

How do I effectively use CBD?

CBD is not recommended to children or women during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you are currently taking any medicine and especially omeprazole or diazepam, we recommend you consult with your doctor before using CBD products.

The amount of CBD is individual since we all have different metabolism and inner mechanisms. The recommended amount of CBD is based on an individuals’ weight, and the recommended daily is 6mg per kilo body weight. Therefore we recommend starting with a low dose and gradually raising it if you do not get the desired effect.

We recommend taking CBD oil together with food and water. When it is consumed on an empty stomach it could cause some nausea. Taking it with food also increases the oils potential bioavailability, which means that the CBD is moving more slowly and staying in our system for a longer time to enhance its positive effects.

CBD Oil vs. CBD Capsules, which should I choose?

Some people react to the strong taste of hemp when taking CBD oil and therefore prefer CBD Capsules. But many people still choose CBD oil since it is easier to regulate the dose as needed (more info about this under How do I take CBD effectively).

It takes longer for the body to feel the effect of the capsules compared to the oil. The full effect of the oil is between 15-20 minutes after taking it and when it comes to the capsules the time is about one hour. However, the effect of the capsules lasts for 6-10 hours, compared to the oil, which lasts for 4-6 hours.

Why choose a CBD Balm?

The main reason to choose a CBD Balm is to make sure your skin is getting the best of what nature has to offer.

The natural ingredients in our CBD Balms are soothing, reduce redness and irritation, at the same time as it provides the skin with moisture.

CBD Balm does not result in any shown side effects.

Why do you use black bottles?

The reason we use black bottles is a pretty basic and easy explained reason, and it is to protect the OIL and make sure the quality is at its best when it reaches our customers.

CBD is an organic molecule, which means it is inherently susceptible to change or degradation.

It’s possible to spend considerable amounts of money on CBD, and ensuring product quality over time is the best way to get maximum value and benefit. From our review of the available science, we can therefore offer the following suggestions:

1. Keep CBD products away from light. This doesn’t just mean keeping them in the dark, although that’s important – it also means using products that come in opaque or dark containers. Clear glass or plastic will ensure your CBD will be breaking down both before and after you buy it.

2. Keep CBD products in a cool place. Making sure you are keeping them away from heat sources (inside a cupboard, for example) is a good start.

3. Minimise exposure of CBD products to air. This simply means keeping the bottle closed whenever it’s not in use.

4. Use products within a few weeks to months of buying them. No matter how careful you are, degradation of your CBD will begin as soon as the product is manufactured. For maximum effect and value, finishing a product within a month or two is the best approach. This also could mean buying products in smaller sizes, so that they are finished within a shorter timeframe.

For this reason, we always order small batches from our providers to make sure the products are as new as possible and of the best quality when our customers receive them.
